Eloise Howell
Welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here, and I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey.
My name is Eloise, and I’m a Colorado native with a deep love for birth work, movement, art, critical psychology, transformative justice, and the outdoors. As a birth doula, I bring not only professional expertise but also a warm, grounded presence rooted in years of study, community engagement, and hands-on experience.
My journey into birth work began during my master’s program, where I focused on the lifelong impacts of birth experiences on both mother and baby. What I discovered affirmed what I had long felt—that how we give birth matters deeply. This led me to earn a Master’s in Psychology with an emphasis in birth work, followed by doula training and certification through DONA International. I gained invaluable hands-on experience as part of the Denver Health Doula Program before launching my own practice, Grounding Touch Doula Services where I focus on a broad spectrum of perinatal care. I’m also proud to be an approved Medicaid provider, ensuring that more families have access to compassionate, informed care.
Fast forward a few years, and I’ve now supported hundreds of families through labor, building a deep well of experience and a strong network within the birthwork community. Each birth I’ve attended holds a special place in my heart and continues to shape the way I move through this work. I have a profound love for what I do and deeply value the trusting relationships I’ve built with the families I support and the providers I collaborate with.
I have extensive experience in every kind of birth - unmedicated, epiduralized, VBACS, inductions, cesarean, and more. My approach is rooted in helping mothers move through the stages of labor with relaxation and a deep connection to their body, baby and their partner. I’m well-versed in the various interventions available in a hospital setting and can guide you through your options with education and support. Whether you’re planning a low-intervention birth or navigating a more medicalized process, I’ll be by your side every step of the way.
Beyond doula work, I’m a partner, teacher, caregiver, grassroots organizer, researcher, and artist. My studies have taken me around the world—from Kenya to Finland, Guatemala to China—giving me a global and multicultural perspective on human health, birth, and sociopolitical challenges. My interest in and love for human development and wellbeing led me to pursue a BA in Social Justice Studies with a focus on Decolonial Pedagogy and Community-Based Organizing, and an MA in Critical Psychology and Human Services, with emphasis on birth, neurodivergence, and sensory integration.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with a wide range of families and individuals, including LGBTQ+ parents, teen moms, refugees, immigrants, foster families, incarcerated individuals, and those navigating neurodivergence. My roles have included infant care specialist, nanny, early childhood educator, postpartum doula, bereavement doula, therapeutic parent coach, and childbirth educator.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to holistic, justice-centered care. I honor each birthing person’s unique path and am here to support your choices, uplift your voice, and help create an experience that feels empowered and deeply held.
Let’s create something beautiful together!
