Emily Griego

As a doula, I strive to empower my clients to advocate for the births that THEY want! This is their story, and they are the authors. I have supported over 75 births in a variety of settings and situations, including multiples (twins and up), VBACs, and belly births. In the birth space, I like to use the BRAIN acronym (benefits, risks, alternatives, intuition, nothing) to help clients navigate through decision making in the birth space. This brings a sense of calmness and allows clients to have meaningful discussions concerning their care with the medical staff.

I have a true passion for obtaining and sharing evidence-based information to help my clients articulate a plan for their ideal labor and delivery as well as the postpartum period. I equip my clients with information about laboring and birthing positions as well as different types of comfort measures. I take a very holistic approach looking for natural remedies during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. (Of course, I always recommend that clients discuss this with their providers.)

As an Indigenous woman, I believe that everyone deserves a doula’s support throughout the incredible journey of pregnancy and birth. I became a doula in December 2022 after my own birth journey. I had hired a birth doula but did not utilize her the way I should have. I didn’t know then what I know now- that it is so BENEFICIAL to have a doula! Although my birth experience was amazing, I think I would have been better equipped had I let my doula support me.

Now I am a full spectrum doula who is growing my career and exploring different aspects of the birth and postpartum world!

Outside of being a doula, I’m a mommy of an active, inquisitive 3-year-old son and recently married in October 2024. I was raised in Colorado, and like so many Coloradans, I love being in nature. I enjoy camping and going to the lakes whenever I can to practice self-care while on my paddleboard. I also have a music background and play multiple instruments as well as sing. I am a proud owner of what I like to call a little farm, including four dogs, three cats, and one bearded dragon.

Meet Emily

Hear from Emily’s clients

“From the very beginning, Emily established a warm and reassuring presence, making me feel supported and empowered throughout the entire labor process. Her extensive knowledge and experience were evident as she navigated the unique challenges of a twin birth with skill and confidence.

During labor, Emily's continuous encouragement and comfort measures were instrumental in helping me stay focused and calm. She worked seamlessly with the medical team, ensuring a harmonious and collaborative birthing environment. Her emotional support was a true source of strength, turning what could have been an overwhelming experience into a positive and empowering one.

I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a doula who not only excels in their role but also goes the extra mile to ensure the well-being of both mother and babies.”

“My husband and I had the privilege of having Emily present at the birth of our son, and she was literally a Godsend! She was accessible and got to the hospital quickly when needed, and was a comforting presence when we didn't really know what to expect.

When things took a turn for the worse and I was rushed out emergently, Emily was there and she stayed with my baby and husband for hours after her shift until family could arrive. We are so grateful that she was there and knew how to help, not just with the birth, but during a very difficult time for us.

We had a great experience with her and would recommend her as a doula 100%!”
