Lena Winkler
As a birth doula it doesn’t matter to me how you want to have your baby – I support all births (planned cesarean, induction, medicated, unmedicated and everything in between)! I care about making sure you and your partner or family have all the tools possible to make informed decisions about how your baby is born. Evidence-based information is a passion of mine and I have found throughout the years that using evidence-based science helps eliminate any personal or unconscious biases. When a client asks me, “Lena what should I do?” I can confidently say, “Here is what I’m hearing and here are the options that were just mentioned, let’s chat about the pros and cons and then you can make an informed decision.” Sometimes when birthing in a hospital setting things can feel rushed; as your doula I’m there to slow things down (unless there is an emergency) and help navigate ways to help you voice your questions more confidently.
I have been a birth doula since 2020 and was trained by Allo Doula Academy through a 200-hour training that had clinical experiences. Right after completing my certification I was hired to be a Rose doula and everything took off! My certification was full-spectrum so I am trained in antepartum, birth, and postpartum. I am also a childbirth educator and am starting to explore more work in lactation.
I donate my time at the hospital taking photographs for families experiencing loss. I am a stereotypical Colorado girl—I love being outside, collecting rocks, sticks, and anything else natural! My family and I try to ski at least enough days to cover our passes, but when babies want to be born, they want to be born! We have two silly Westie dogs that have taken a backseat since our two children were born!

“Once Lena arrived, she was by my side the entire labor and delivery process. She provided pain management techniques and endless words of support and encouragement. She was in constant contact with the nurses and doctors-- helping me to convey my needs and wishes when I was unable to.”
“Lena was caring and helpful and supported us throughout the entire birth experience — including answering all of my random questions leading up to birth. She was so friendly and personable and put my husband and me at ease, and was also a huge help to the nursing staff at Rose. Lena took beautiful photos of the birth and captured those first few seconds when we met our baby boy.”
“Lena did an amazing job as our doula! She was there to answer any questions leading up to the birth via text/phone call, which was really helpful as we had a lot of questions as first-time parents. During the labor and delivery, she assisted with moral support, breathing, helping me push, and providing an extra hand to the nurses.
She even took professional photos of the entire process, which were fun to see after the fact. She was very flexible and supportive of the way we wanted to deliver our baby, while at the same time providing guidance and information when needed. Overall, she made the birthing process much more bearable. Thanks, Lena!”
