Bringing a new life into this world is one of the most special, tender and beautiful moments many will experience. The birth of a baby includes not just the birth of one human, but the rebirth of each family member. What an honor to be able to support, empower, and educate families throughout this transition.
As a birth doula and Licensed Social Worker, I’ve had the opportunity to merge my passions of birth and perinatal mental health, providing physical and emotional support to clients during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum. I utilize various techniques to support you in creating a birth experience that allows you and your birth partner to feel empowered, fulfilled and at-ease. I use an individualized approach to meet you where you are, empowering birthing persons and partners to advocate and collaborate throughout the birthing process. I’m acutely in tune with the needs of others and work flexibly to shift my support based on what you may need each moment. I utilize a strength-based approach at all times, recognizing that every human has differing strengths and holding the belief that people do the best they can with what they have. I firmly believe that anyone can accomplish their goals when given the right support, encouragement and advocacy.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon (2015) and a Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver (2020). I’ve been employed as a social worker for the past decade, working in child welfare and now as a Jeffco elementary school social worker. While I love social work, serving as a birth doula fulfills a lifelong passion and I’m thrilled to be a part of the 9th Avenue Doulas team. Outside of my professional career, I stay busy with my three-year-old son (my own Rose Baby!) and two rambunctious dogs. I enjoy doing anything active and/or outdoors; dancing, running, hiking, water sports, and traveling with family and friends.
I am thrilled that you’ve chosen to experience the beautiful transition of birth at Rose and would be honored to serve as your doula!
